The Elves and The Shoemaker

There was once a (   1   )with his wife living in a village. But they were so poor that they have nothing to eat for the next coming days. They have nothing aside from a leather which will be good for a pair of shoes only. The shoemaker left it on the (   2   ) so he could sew it by tomorrow.
